Plans
I slept badly and woke up early. After lying in bed a long while, trying to will myself back to sleep, at five-something AM I elected to give up, get up, have a shower, wake the dog, and look into whether a geohashing expedition/dog walk might be a suitable morning's distraction. This hashpoint looked likely to be reachable, depending on the state of the nearby footpath and what the fields here were being used for.
Expedition
The dog and I drove up to Tackley and parked at the triangle of land that remains of the village green.

A mowed village green, surrounded by a road and a mixture of brick and stone houses.
Making out way up Ball Lane and Fox Hill, we cut along a public footpath to the fields beyond. The gently rolling hills were quite attractive in the cool morning light, which I enjoyed. Meanwhile, the dog enjoyed running around like a mad thing, finding feathers and bones and sticks and all kinds of other things with delightful (to her) smells.

The network of footpaths criss-crossing the farms at this point are clearly not all well-used or maintained. Some are fine, but others - including some of those that we needed to take - were badly-signposted, cut straight across fields that hadn't been mowed or marked to show where the route was, or... disappeared into hedgerows!
Before long, and realising that we were either in the field with the hashpoint or one adjacent to it, we sighted a trigpoint on the horizon and hacked our way across to it. It turned out to be TP6298. On trigpointing.uk, user 'je448' says that 'the views really capture what you think about when "English countryside" comes to mind'. I'm inclined to agree.

A concrete bollard style trigpoint stands in a bare field.
Not far beyond, a pair of trees cast a shadow over the geohashpoint. We reached it at 08:12 and posed for the requisite silly grin (the dog's grin was, as usual, much sillier than mine).

Dan, a white man with a goatee beard and ponytail, smiles for the camera while holding a French Bulldog whose tongue is lolling as she pants, in a field.
I still don't have a good working GPSr, and I even forgot to bring my tracklog-keeping smartwatch this time, but I took a screenshot from the Android app as proof of our success.

We made our way back by walking the path to the South and following the road back up to Tackley. On the way we found geocaches GC46YCV and GC46YDF and added three benches to OpenBenches (45923, 45924, 45925).
