Domains

Like many geeks, I own perhaps too-many domain names. Here's an (incomplete) list, semi-dynamically pulled from my domain registrars, enumerating some of them:

  • abnib.co.uk
Formerly a weblog aggregator for many of my friends. Once most of them stopped regularly blogging it became a birthday reminder site and its subdomains became a dumping ground for other random projects, e.g.:
  • avangel.com
An old domain name I no longer control, but that hosted an old version of my site, and my first proper domain name. Still referenced sometimes in my oldest blog posts.
  • *************.lol
Short-life site used to collect RSVPs for one of my kids' birthday parties. Will be allowed to expire.
  • castle.onza.net
My first subdomain-based website address, still referenced in my very-oldest blog posts.
  • changeyourstarsign.com
Silly "fun and weird" to help you "change" your star sign and print a certificate to prove it. Explanatory blog post.
  • danq.blog
Backup domain. Redirects to this site.
  • danq.dev
The top level domain links to this site, but various subdomains exist for individual projects, including:
  • danq.link
Hosts a link-shortening service, but mostly just redirects back to this domain
  • danq.me
You're looking at it! There are various subdomains, including:
    • cheatman.danq.me
Hangman, except your opponent cheats by changing what word they're thinking of (while keeping their lies internally self-consistent so you can't catch them at it!).
    • things.danq.me
A collection of many of my other projects online.
  • danq.uk
Backup domain. Redirects to this site.
  • dndle.app
Wordle-clone where you have to guess Dungeons & Dragons 5e monsters based on their stats. Explanatory blog post.
  • egxchange.org
Implementation of a wallet for my favourite non-cryptocurrency. Explanatory blog post.
  • fleeblewidget.co.uk
Maintaned on behalf of my partner Ruth.
  • fnorders.com
An old re-implementation of The Fnorder; the domain lapsed, but the source code is still available.
  • freedeedpoll.org.uk
For many years, I've run this site to help British citizens change their name for free and without a solicitor.
  • geohashing.site
The central wiki of Geohashing, the spontaneous adventure generation game invented by Randall Munroe. Has a few subdomains providing secondary services.
  • **********.com
A (slowly) under-construction project for some Melonland friends.
  • q-t-a.uk
Central domain name for my family's online services. Most systems are private and run on subdomains.
  • rockmonkey.org.uk
Former home of a silly wiki my friends and I used to play about with. Now hosts a downloadable archive of that wiki and not much else.
  • scatmania.org
Backup domain. Redirects to this site.
  • skelly.monster
Spooky puppet game using your phone's tilt sensors and websockets to control a dancing skeleton on your computer screen.
  • textplain.blog
Because who said that a website had to be written in HTML? A zero-HTML website, using plain text only to maintain a nerdy blog.
  • tromanight.co.uk
A domain I no-longer control but which used to host a forum about my weekly bad film night. You'll still see if referred to around my blog.
  • trrtl.com
LOGO turtles, but powered by CoffeeScript.
