The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act [contains spoilers]

The elder child took me to the cinema to see The Amazing Digital Circus: The Last Act tonight. I was pleased and impressed that it didn’t take the (ample) opportunities for a trite nor easy way out, instead finishing its arc in a satisfying way that did justice to everything that had come before it. Like its original source material, this wasn’t a story about people escaping or overcoming their antagonist… it was a story about found family and coming to terms with the reality that we’re given, for both its joys and tragedies.

(Unlike the story the inspired it, though, it is of course not completely bleak, and is even hopeful right up to the very end.)

So yeah. Not bad. Was a good crowd to see it with, too. The audible gasp from the entire auditorium at the moment that it becomes apparent that Caine still exists was enjoyable to be part of.

Oh, and in case you haven’t seen any of the bajillion places that have doubtless already leaked the “store exclusive” merch QR qode that appears at the end of the movie, here you go: https://glitchproductions.store/pages/u2fsdgvkx19pzajepvyzbljzzv48kjlz331hmw9mith7fo5l1tzw3vji92nudusk
