Parked at the recommended coordinates (thanks) in anticipation of finding this cache, and then attempting the Northern loop of the nearby Way Down West series, this afternoon. Lovely little churchyard and an easy find: a great start to today’s expedition.

And so it begins! I’ve been spending this week on holiday in Croyde, and decided this afternoon to attempt the Northern loop of the Way Down West series, which I’d earmarked for an expedition (and copied to my GPSr) last week. It was an awesome series, and I wish I could give Favourite Points to about a dozen of them, but I don’t have enough to spare and I’ll instead just give a point to this, the first one, in the hope that it’ll encourage others to attempt the series, too.

Love the hiding place: I’m always pleased to see a cacher put some effort into their hides. TFTC.

Haven’t time to finish the series this evening, but glad to grab this one as I finish my caching expedition and start looking for some food. GPSr was playing up, but found the cache eventually (with the help of the hint!). TFTC.

A reasonably easy find – GPSr was off my a few metres but I thought to myself, “well I know where I’D hide it…”, and sure enough there it was. Took a while to stealthily re-hide as for a while I was being watched with curiosity both by a shirtless gentleman on a balcony and by three skateboarding kids; managed in the end, though. TFTC.

Easier paths, here, and a great finish to a brilliant series of caches. Working out where this one was hidden was easier than getting it. Getting it was easier than putting it back! But success was had!

Quick question: is that GLUED?

Found it, though it’s looking very-much worse for the wear. No lid, soaking wet, and not hidden. Signed log and re-hid as best I could, but at current rates this cache is only one good rainstorm away from disappearing completely.

I’ve been working my way through the Boundary Brook series from North to South by bicycle, this evening, and while I’ve struggled a little to get my bike through the various obstacles so far, it was only at this cache that I realised that bringing my bike might have been a mistake. Was it the marsh I got bogged down in or the fallen tree I had to circumnavigate? I don’t know. But by the time I got to this cache, I was exhausted from pushing and carrying my heavy, muddy, designed-for-roads vehicle!

Nice spot for a walk, but it looks like the hiding spot gets used as a litter bin sometimes. :-(

There’s nothing I love more than a well-placed geocache that teaches you since fascinating local history. Love it.

Cache waterlogged, but log itself okay (for now). Needs some paper towel and some airing or, I think.

TFTC!

Can’t believe it took me so long to get around to finding this one, given that the starting point is just around the corner from my work. Had my suspicions about the final location after a friend of mine had a cache of hers, near that point, rejected earlier this year. Thanks for the cache and the delightful reminder of Oxford’s history.
