Nice one Dan, you should do this more. Probably the time to change how we pronounce GUI, GPU as well. 😁
GUI works as “gooey”. GPU as “gee-pee-you” works because you’re spelling it, just like PNG as “pee-enn-gee”. But now I think about it, the people who say PNG as “ping” are wrong, by my logic: it, too, needs a hard “G” sound in it, so I guess it should be “pnn-guh”? I’ll stick to spelling-out PNG, I guess! Also GPU, or else it becomes “guh-poo”.

Can’t go wrong with spelling them out! Except the really long acronyms.
A lot of things start out as spelled-out acronyms, then become “pronounced” acronyms, and eventually become words in their own right. Like AIDS, which many newspaper style guides now write as “Aids”.
The really confusing acronyms, in my mind, are the ones where you spell out part of it but read the other part as if it were a word. Like “CD-ROM”. Or, I suppose, like JPEG (whether you pronounce it “J-Peg” or my new proposed “J-Feg”).
