I’ve finished TromaNightAdventure, a WikiGame on RockMonkey. It’s at version 0.9, so far, because there’s still a few things I’d like to do with it (like add a “hints” page, for example!). But nonetheless, if you’re a Troma Night fan, you ought to go play it!
It’s certainly fun to play, but I am a little concerned (and I’ve got to phrase this very carefully) that the scene with me makes about as much sense as the Carousel Room in Zork II, and seems only to make the game more illogical, thus lengthening the playtime unfairly…
Oh; absolutely. But there are some major limitations to writing a wiki-based game, and I’ve tried to make a whole variety of puzzles – PaulMann represents one of those awful, trial-and-error, illogical puzzles. Rescuing Ruth, however, is an easy puzzle to solve, but a tougher one to get all the pieces together to solve for more points. AndyKeohane is an exploration puzzle (get the pieces, come back) – again, with multiple solutions.
It isn’t necessary to get PaulMann to win. It’s quite possible to win with 140 points without persuading him to come at all. Plus; I think the PaulMann puzzle is easier than it first appears – he pretty much gives you the answers after a couple of random guesses.
It’d piss me off if I was playing it, too.
