A lot of things are hard right now. But I appreciate that Spring has come and I can enjoy a cheese & pickle sandwich and a fake beer for lunch in the sun. All to the sounds of the birds singing... and, somewhere behind me, the dog excitedly demolishing a pile of pine cones.

For a little while I got to lie in the sunshine and read my book in quiet solitude. But before long I found I was sharing it with a small child and his noisy games console.
Still delightful, though, and it feels wonderfully Spring-like out there today.

When I was a child, we had a cherry blossom tree in our garden. In late Spring, as the flowers began to wilt, I'd enjoy shaking it to make flutters of pink confetti rain down around me.
This tree, though, spotted on the school run this morning, is very early in its bloom. It feels like a happy reminder that Spring is beginning.

A lunchtime dog walk was made especially delightful by the growing warmth of the approaching British springtime. It's really bright and pretty out, this afternoon!

Picnic Time
We're off on a picnic! Bryn, Claire, Paul and I are making sandwiches and we're off up Pen Dinas to scoff them and watch the sunset. Which is nice.
It feels like springtime.
