Sprawling, but clean and airy, following its 2017 renovation/extension.

A fun, if slightly pricey, dive into history. Friendly staff help the experience to come alive.

An Oxford institution almost as well-established as the Colleges (although a lot less well-known), the covered market is home to dozens of small and local shops and cafes. Well worth a visit whether you’re a resident or just a tourist in the city.

Fresh ice-cream milkshakes in literally hundreds of flavours. I recommend the Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

Soulless collection of dealerships, all in one place! I’m not sure whose idea it was that car dealerships belonged all in one place (like a food court or a shopping centre): maybe somebody who genuinely believes that normal people “window shop” for cars and want the convenience of being able to do so on foot?
It’s a good location, but a pointless exercise.

The Natural History Museum’s secret cousin, which you’d be as likely to discover by happy accident as by design. A remarkable diversity of ethnographic representation is crammed-in from wall-to-wall and you could easily spend all day among the collections and still have more to see.

Very good, responsive massage therapists operating in a calm, relaxed environment: just what you need to unwind.

In theory, a nice and easy way to get Argos goods if you can’t have them delivered to your house: pick them up with your weekly shopping. In practice: you’re likely to stand around for some time waiting for your order to come out from the back… by which point you might as well have driven to Argos! Still useful if you’re within walking distance, I suppose.

Convenient and with plenty of parking as well as easy access by foot. Sells… almost anything you need about the home. Super friendly service.

Just another Wetherspoons. Clean and convenient and with cheap drinks, but with food priced at the Wetherspoons price points usually reserved for larger cities: bit of a rip-off in Aberystwyth!

Basic, functional launderette. The machines are usually in working order and it’s rarely busy, but it’s inadvisable to leave your washing unattended, even just to go to the shop across the street!

Friendly, central, and open virtually all of the time: putting the “convenience” into “convenience store”.

Aberystwyth’s best fish & chips. Well worth the walk from anywhere in the town.
