Fresher’s Week Aberystwyth
If you were in The Glen on Saturday 23rd September, you’ll probably have seen an odd chap in a very loud shirt, inflating balloons and giving out “Hot Wet Sex” posters! The whole thing became a huge party – everybody bouncing balloons across the dance floor and waving posters in the air! (I wonder how many survived the evening and got the message across?) Anyway – I’ll be in the Students Union on Penglais campus on Friday night, so – see you there, with more balloons!
Cool Thing Of The Day
Cool And Interesting Thing Of The Day To Do At The University Of Wales, Aberystwyth, #24:
Take a pillow to a lecture. =o)
The ‘cool and interesting things’ were originally published to a location at which my “friends back home” could read them, during the first few months of my time at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, which I started in September 1999. It proved to be particularly popular, and so now it is immortalised through the medium of my weblog.

Avatar Diary
Got up late, and had lunch with my mum before returning to my dad’s house. Made a chicken stir-fry for tea (one of my few culinary skills) while my dad repaired his bike… I wasn’t actually being considerate of others needs: I was just hungry. Watched “Gattaca” on video in the evening, followed by Channel 5’s late film, “The Demolitionist”. Neither was particually good.
Avatar Diary
Didn’t go in to college. Virtually all my lessons have been cancelled anyway. Instead – spend the morning catching up on sleep lost over the last few weeks, and took the afternoon as a chance to deal with my backlog of e-mail in my InBox…
Placeholder for Dan’s First Blog Post
Dan’s first blog post was made on this date. Its existence and the date of its publication can be derived from other sources, but its contents have been lost. It didn’t have a
title. It will have been available at http://castle.onza.net/ (and then later http://castle.onza.net/diary/) from the date of its publication through 1 October 1999.
This post acts as a placeholder in the unlikely event that its content can one day be recovered.
MOVE IN PROGRESS
Castle of the Four Winds is currently in the process of moving to it’s new location at castle.onza.net. Please alter your bookmarks and links, then check out the NEW-AND-IMPROVED-SITE!

Declaration of Hardware
This declaration was posted to one of my first websites, on 22 April 1997; I’m not certain why. From the sounds of things I was using a school computer at the time. It was
republished here on 22 March 2021.
I am using an RM PC-433S Accelerator on a 486 Nimbus Network, operating a Brother M-1824L dot matrix and a Brother HL-8e laser jet. I am using a mouse and a 102-key keyboard. The monitor is capable of displaying up to 256 colours in VGA, at a resolution of 640×480.
