Okay: I made a HUGE mistake heading to this one. Somehow I must have ended up on the wrong path, because I found myself on an abandoned footpath (definitely a footpath, though: the stone walls it crossed had stiles), heavily overgrown and increasingly flooded! Eventually I had to give up and change course, hacking my way through 7-foot nettles to rejoin the main path. Should’ve brought a machete! Got to the cache in the end, though!

Looks like some recent work has taken place to repair this fence (in fact, spare fence posts and tools were still lying about!), and I was worried that the cache night have been muggled, but there it was, in exactly the kind of spot I’ve learned to expect from this series!

As I got closer to this cache, I discovered that it was on the other side of the fence to me. It can’t have been placed on private land so far from the public footpath, surely, I thought. And then I realised: it was I who was on the wrong side of the fence. Whoops! Quickly corrected my mistake, then found this lovely cache very easily. TFTC!

Out of water and feeling the heat, I almost called it quits. But the route for the caches was only marginally longer than the fastest route for me to get back to the car… And besides, I’d come so far already! I resolved to finish the series, and pressed on up to this one.
