@Sian: Yes, and one of the things I do use Twitter for is as sort of a souped-up downforeveryoneorjustme.com. If a web service is up but is crawling along at a snail’s pace, a quick search on Twitter will tell me if anybody else is having the same issues (or if it’s just a shitty connection somewhere between me and the service). Most folks I’ve seen I wouldn’t follow, but it’s useful to check up on a trending topic and see what I might have missed.
