QR and DM codes are becoming more popular in the UK. I think that most of the Nokia N-series phones come with readers[1], and I’m pretty sure the new Blackberries can read them too (but I can’t find a link to support that). Hopefully as the features from these high-end phones trickle down, QR codes will take off.

I was recently involved in a project for Revealing Histories[2] where we put QR codes on a lot of objects and documents at the Manchester Art Gallery[3], which wasn’t massively successful, but I think it was one of the first public deployments in this country.
