The Gender Genie

The Gender Genie is quite remarkable. Copy-paste a heap of your journal entries (and state that journal entries is what they are) and it will attempt to guess your gender, based on the language used (and partially explain it’s reasoning).

I’m apparently male, with a two-thirds certainty. Not bad.

The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: male!

Even though this result seems to be based on the fact that i used the word “the” a lot, I’m still
happy that I’m not as girly as people suggest

It ain’t all that remarkable – I gave it fiction, non-fiction and diary entries to check, and it STILL thought I was male.

    I was quite hurt.

Yay! Apparently I use the word “this” too much. There’s another one!

Cool. The first time I used rather less text and it decided I was male by about 165 words. It seems marginally more certain now… Clever bugger, innit?

It said i was male. do you think it ever expects someone to be female. I guess it has a 50 50 chance of getting it right even if it always says ‘male’. It might even hypothesised that more males would be taking the test, and therefor would have an even higher chance of being right.
